For many students it’s the most important week of the school year. This year at Grandview High school, not only did the football team come out with the win for homecoming, but students got to enjoy themselves during spirit week, the bonfire and a fun dance!
Spirit week not only got student participation, but also teacher and staff participation. The themes of spirit included nerd day, illumination day, crazy hair day, twin day and blue and gold day. Students showed their spirit throughout spirit week and especially during the parade.
Being led by the Blue and Gold Brigade, the parade consisted of all types of organizations. Groups like the Zombie Prom, Spirit Squad, The Gold House, the attendants, the Grandview High School football team, and others proudly walked waving at the crowd as each member got hyped for the game.
Coming out on top for the king and queen were seniors Apa Visinia and Drea Lesure. Senior attendants included Freedom Akinmoladun, Hector Chavez, Star Wilkins and Jonesha Gould. The junior attendants were Hunter Pittman and Hope Lee, sophomores were Darrius Walker and Maddie Jackson, and last but not least, representing the freshmen, Luke Whitaker and Serenity Cave.
To top it all off on Friday night Bulldogs went into overtime and got the win against Ray-South. The score was 27-21 with the bulldogs winning by a touchdown scored by Senior Jerel Alexander. Following the exciting game students got primped and pretty for the dance. Celebrating the win, students and football players attended the event and enjoyed themselves.
