Grandview High School’s Varsity Girls Soccer Team members have big dreams for this season. Many of them hope simply to enjoy the thrill of being on the field, while others are out to prove people wrong this season.
This year’s season appears to have a lot of exciting things in store for the high school’s girl’s soccer team. One senior midfielder and goalie, Courtney Anderson, has high hopes for this upcoming soccer season.
Looking deeper past the grass stains, Anderson gave insight into why she plays soccer. According to Anderson, she plays soccer “for the thrill of being on the field.”
Although many odds and popular opinions seek to bring them down, their spirit and excitement about soccer has not been in the least hampered. Encouraged by their love for soccer and devotion to their teammates, the soccer team refuses to let its dreams be intimidated by negative remarks.
Anderson commented that her wish for this year’s season was for the team to improve from last year, and also to prove people wrong. She hopes the team will, “win more games this season than we di last season [and] prove people wrong.”
With a win so early in this season, the odds are looking up. As the weather is warming up, so are the soccer players.
On April 5, the Bulldogs defeated Ruskin High School’s Girls Varsity Soccer Team. This brings them even closer to their goal of beating last year’s record.
They have many more games to play this season. Come on out to the field and support the Lady Bulldogs!
