This time of the year the Grandview community comes together to enjoy a day of exercising. The annual Grandview Triangle Walk/Run and Health Fair is set for Saturday, Sept. 21.
Families, students, and teachers all come out to participate in the event. They also get the chance to bond together as a public.
“We keep going because it is a good way to get some exercise and we can do it as a family. I think it’s a great way to bring the community together,” said Rachel McDougal, a participant in the event for the past several years.
The Grandview Triangle is a 1-mile, 2-mile, or 4-mile walk/run. The walk/run events begin at GHS at 8:30 a.m. The routes feature a four-mile route that goes to Longview Lake, a two-mile route that goes east from GHS and back, and a one-mile route that goes east from GHS and back. Check-in time is 7:45 a.m. Registration fees are $5 for students (includes a T-shirt), $5 for adults (without T-shirt), or $10 for adults (with T-shirt).
The Health Fair is from 9-11 a.m. in the GHS cafeteria. It includes 30 health- and safety-oriented organizations with hands-on activities and information.
