The halls are alive with the sound of pop music! The theme for this year’s Spring concert will be “Pop Songs of This Millennium.” This concert will be held at 7 p.m. May 10 at GHS.
“The seniors’ suggestions from last year is what inspired this theme,” says Karrie Reitz, GHS choir director/teacher.
The concert will consist of many songs from the millennium and have solos and individual groups perform their personal selection of songs. “I’m mostly excited for “Some Nights” by Foster the People, which is going to be performed by all choirs and “Rhythm of Love,” which will be sung by the men,” Reitz says.
Students are mostly excited for this production because the songs are what they can relate to and are in their era. The pops concert is anticipated by the choir members because the songs are popular to the student body.
“I think there will be a good outcome because the songs are ones of today,” says Rebecca Fleming, a ninth grade choir member.
The spring concerts always have good turnouts but people are hoping this one will bring in a younger crowd. “I’m hoping to attract more teenagers and high school students with this production,” Reitz said
The choir members are busy preparing and choosing songs for the May concert. They all hope to have a great outcome and rock the songs like the great artists of their time.
