The Lady Bulldogs won the championship game of the Belton Invitational Tournament Dec. 7 by beating Hogan Prep Charter, 79-61.
Lady Bulldog Nataya Partee was selected player of the game. In the championship game of the Belton Invitational, Partee scored 17 points and eight rebounds, helping the team win the tournament.
Lady Bulldogs Head Coach Shannon Moore credited his squad’s success to hard work and teamwork.
“I don’t make any predictions. My coaching staff preaches hard work and teamwork. We believe the score takes care of itself,” Moore said.
From all the hard work, the following ladies had a good game and helped with the win. Sophomore Simone Jordan led the way with 12 points, six rebounds, and four steals. Drea Lesure, a senior, scored 10 points and added four assists. Freshman Zoie Reynolds scored 9 points and added four rebounds, four assists and three steals. Another freshman, Virja Lewis, pulled down six rebounds and scored 4 points.
The Lady Bulldogs will take on the Lady Panthers from Ray-Pec High School today (Dec. 9) at Ray-Pec.
