From Staff Reports and a News Release — On Sept. 21 the GHS Robotics Team will participate in the Wayside Waifs 23rd Annual Strutt with Your Mutt. When the Robodog comes out dressed as K-9 from “Dr. Who” the robotics team will start its 3K ‘strutt’ with the school’s own robotic dog.
In a news release about the event, Mr. Clark Vance, the robotics instructor said, “we want to make a difference in our community, and I can’t think of a better way than to participate in Strutt With Your Mutt. After all, we are the Bulldogs!”
Mr. Vance and some of his students added that the 3K is a good cause ,but it will also raise awareness and interest in the Grandview School District.
This walk will assist Wayside Waifs, the area’s largest no-kill animal shelter, with caring for 6,500 pets that are homeless and abused and it will also help 30,000 metro children get a safe and healthy education. The event starts at 9 a.m. near 62nd and Brookside Plaza.
The robotics team has met its pledge goal of $150, but Mr. Vance is still encouraging others to donate by going to the team’s Strutt With Your Mutt webpage at www.waysidewaifs.org. Mr. Vance is also encouraging others to join the robotics team.
