As students file into the lunch room and sit down, or as they wait to be dismissed to get their food, some students are at the voting tables voting for various nominees and homecoming themes.

To vote for this year’s Homecoming theme, students let their extra change do the talking.

Cups representing possible themes for the celebration were placed on a table in the lunchroom. The winning theme was the one with the most money collected.

The theme for the 2013 GHS Homecoming is Glow in the Dark. This theme will be accommodated with neon colors, glow sticks and fun dancing.

The voting fundraiser raised $46 for the Grandview Assistance Program, a program that helps people who need financial help.

The second-place theme was Masquerade and the third was Mystery behind the Mask.

Dajea Malone, a senior, says, “I think the homecoming theme this year will be fun. It is glow in the dark and I’m bringing glow sticks.”

Homecoming is set for Friday, Oct. 4.
