As students of the Grandview High School State and Federal Government classes entered the auditorium the excitement grew. They sat down and got out paper to take notes of the information the senator was about to give them.
Last week, Aug. 29, Sen. Jason R. Holsman visited GHS to speak to the State and Federal Government classes about the governmental system and to answer some questions about ongoing issues.
On Aug. 30, Rep. Joe Runions paid a similar visit.
During the visits, students were given the opportunity to ask questions and learn about how state government works.
“Having the Senator here was a learning experience,” said Principal Mr. Scraggs.
Before leaving, Holsman said, “I hope that you take away from this experience that if you write a letter to your senator then you can help make things happen just like anybody else.”
