Senioritis. It is an affliction quickly spreading as seniors begin to realize their days at Grandview High School are coming to an end.
But, for many seniors, while they’re excited to take the next big step of their lives, they are beginning to realize there are people and things they are going to miss about high school.
High school is a one-time experience, and within that time range, students learn a lot.
High school students meet new people, new teachers, and have plenty of new experiences.
It’s not just about textbooks and worksheets; it’s about the relationships and life lessons.
Students learn a lot about themselves.
Pete Brittain, a senior, said there are things he will miss about high school. I’ll miss all my friends, and the football team because they are all my family, Brittain said. “They have my back!”
Brittain wants to tell the underclassmen to, “Stay in school, and don’t do drugs, and make your high school career a wonderful one.”
“All our dreams can come true, if you have the courage to pursue them! Ivan Lofton said.
Lofton, a senior, says he is going to miss a lot about high school. Lofton said “he’ll miss all the sports he participated in, all of his friends, Miss Pearl; because she has been a big part of his life and been there for him in the past two years and I’m going to miss my little bro Kris Gunn.”
Lofton also said that he feels so excited to leave high school because he is ready for a new part in his life, and he’s ready for a life change because he is prepared to be what he was meant to be.
Lofton wants to tell the underclassmen to work hard at all times, and take school very seriously.
Senior Ryan Lee said he is really going to miss high school. He said he will miss “hanging out with his friends, participating in football, and baseball, and he will miss his awesome girlfriend, Victoria Coleman-Wilson.
Lee is excited to leave high school because it’s sweet, and he’s ready for a life change, and he wants to move on to bigger and better things.
“Underclassmen, stay in the books, because hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work,” Lee advised.
