The GHS girls track ended last season with a state championship. This season is looking much like their last season. They recently won the 4×100 relay at the prestigious KU relays.

Senior team captain Miranda Carr has high expectations for herself and the team this year.

“This is going as expected, but we all need to work harder to get our second state championship.” Carr also stated that conference is when the real season begins. Her goals for the team are to win state and for everyone to PR in every race.

“As we push each other — that’s what’s going to get us to state again,” said team captain Anglerne Annelus.

Anglerne’s goals for this season is to win state again in the open 200m and the open 100m. She’s also a great contributor in the 4×100 and the 4×200. The girls track team looks at Angie not only a leader, but a sister also.

More personal goals for Angie are to become closer to teammates, and breaking state records and leaving her mark on a bigger scale. “Teams are gunning for us, so we really have to be ready for the battle,” says Angie.

Grandview Girls have set up high expectations this season and plan to live up to them.
