The GHS volleyball team had its senior night Oct. 16. Though they only have three seniors this year, it was an exciting and bittersweet night. Elizabeth Findley, Jazmin Honeycutt, and Haley Ratliff are the team’s three seniors.

“It’s pretty overwhelming!” says Haley Ratliff.

Haley has been a part of the volleyball team for two years and said said she’s saddened that it has come to an end so soon. Before the game, she said she planned to go all out her senior night while playing against rivals Raytown South. She explained that she wants to be the rock of the team that night.

“No, the game is no different from the others. I’m still going to play hard and be a team player,” said Jazmin Honeycutt after being asked was she going to play different on senior night.

Honeycutt has played for the GHS volleyball team since she was a freshman. She said she was excited about playing Raytown South and is sure to try and get a win!

Team captain Elizabeth Findley has played for the team since her freshman year and has played varsity since her sophomore year. Prior to the senior night game, she said she plans to pick her teammates up and fight to get a win at her last home game of high school.
