Grandview High School welcomed the community to view the new and updated bleachers and scoreboard before the Homecoming game on Sept. 20.

The GHS cheerleaders and band performed to help celebrate this memorable moment.

The event started with Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kenny Rodriguez giving a welcoming speech and thanking all of the people who were involved with the project.

During the event, there were some guest speakers including physical education teacher Dana Bedwell, Athletic Director Kirk Hipple, student Jay’len Thompson, and many others.

Toward the end of the event, Rodriguez cut the ribbon and the band played the fight song to show some spirit.

“We are very fortunate to have a strong athletic program. So many students and athletes have decorated this field and track. This investment that we are able to open up tonight, is an investment in our future. I see many young men and women sitting up these stands tonight and they’re just itching to be out on this field and track,” Hipple said.

“I’m so proud of the new changes that are happening and know my team is excited about this stadium and ready to pump up the crowd,”  Thompson said.
